Nevermind that he won an Oscar for Cocoon in 1985. They were great in Trading Places. It did not define their careers.

The 1989 film The War of the Roses, starring Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas, is presented as a cautionary tale told by a divorce lawyer (Danny DeVito) to a new client ("Man in Chair"). The client never speaks. The same year the actor who played the client voiced a role in a new television cartoon. It was Dan Castalanetta.

 

  Wrote the song Always Something There to Remind Me for Dionne Warwick. It was later covered by the band Naked Eyes. He also wrote the song Promises, Promises for the musical of the same name. Naked Eyes later recorded a song called Promises Promises, but not the one by Bacharach.

 "Close to You," though best known in the recording by The Carpenters (1970), was first recorded by actor Richard Chamberlain.

Charles Kimbrough and Beth Howland met doing Sondheim's Company in 1970. 32 years, Alice and Murphy Brown later, they got married. Could have been a song in Company.
