Watching an interview with guitarist Laurence Juber, he talked about Paul McCartney taking inspiration for Blackbird from Bach's Bourree in E minor. Juber points out that the version of the Bourree that McCartney knew was Chet Atkins. There ya go, Dad!

    Both the Tintin character Professor Calculus and the Star Trek character Jean-Luc Picard took inspiration from the Swiss inventor/scientist Auguste Piccard.
