It has been revealed on the Simpson's that conductor Gustavo Dudamel is actually from Springfield! He and Lisa's orchestra teacher were classmates and rivals!

      In 1972, Cliff Gorman won a Tony Award for his portrayal of comedian Lenny Bruce in the Julian Barry play "Lenny." In 1974, Bob Fosse directed the film adaptation of the play, starring Dustin Hoffman. In 1980, Fosse directed All That Jazz, based in part on his direction of "Lenny." In All That Jazz, the film is called 'The Stand-Up" and stars a character named Davis Newman, inspired by Dustin Hoffman. Davis Newman is played by Cliff Gorman.

I do love a good Wikipedia spiral! Just fell down one that ended with the impression that philosopher Walter Benjamin was a fan of Star Trek TNG! He was not, having committed suicide in 1940. My mistake.

While making Paint Your Wagon, Jean Seberg and Clint Eastwood had an affair. When Seberg's husband, author Romain Gary, found out, he challenged Eastwood to a duel. Eastwood declined.

Stumbled on the Bizarro-World Barrabas film starring Anthony Quinn. I'd forgotten it was based on the Par Lagerkvist novel. Not sure that I ever knew that the screenplay was by Christopher "The Lady's Not For Burning" Fry.
