In 1974, Bob Fosse directed the film adaptation of the play, starring Dustin Hoffman.
In 1980, Fosse directed All That Jazz, based in part on his direction of "Lenny." In All That Jazz, the film is called 'The Stand-Up" and stars a character named Davis Newman, inspired by Dustin Hoffman.
Davis Newman is played by Cliff Gorman.
