"Ah, la Piaf est morte, je peux mourir aussi."



 Jean Cocteau and Edith Piaf died on the same day.  It was said that Cocteau was so upset when he heard about Piaf that he had a heart attack.  I don't care if it actually happened that way, it is too great a story not to be true.
