Roger Corman
Saw an interview with Roger Corman, discussing the difficulty of directing Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre in The Raven in 1963. He said it was because Karloff "was a classically trained Shakespearean actor and Lorre was a New York trained Method actor." This made it very difficult for them to work together, their styles clashing so.
Nope and nope.
Lorre studied with Brecht in Berlin and Karloff had no training at all.
